Kerene Strochnetter
Managing Director - Mindful at Work
Before launching Mindful at Work in 2016 —back when mindfulness was still seen as incense-adjacent and filed under “nice but not necessary” — I’d spent years navigating the worlds of health, education, and corporate life.
I’d seen the boardrooms, the bureaucracy, and the burnout up close. And I knew the way we were working wasn’t working.
Back then, mindfulness was often dismissed as just a calming tool or meditation-lite, but I saw its real potential: as a powerful catalyst for how we work, lead, and live.
Today, mindfulness isn’t fringe — it’s a foundational skill for building self-awareness, emotional agility, and the courage to show up with clarity when it matters most.
Whether I’m coaching senior leaders, facilitating team programmes, speaking on stage, or writing books and articles, I help people turn insight into behaviour change that actually sticks.
Clients say I blend humour, honesty, and hard-won wisdom with a no-fluff approach that actually shifts culture. I’m not here to tick boxes — I’m here to spark transformation.
My clients include Chief Executives and Senior and Middle managers in the private and public sectors (health, education, central and local government, consultancy, retail, IT, energy, law, banking, the pharmaceutical industry, and small businesses).
I am business partner for Triple Goal working with leadership teams across New Zealand.
I specialise in developmental mindfulness, mindset coaching, mental resilience, culture change and workplace well-being.
